MODELING GASEOUS CAVITY IN FLUID FLOW

The paper considers the formation of a ventilated cavity in flow water behind streamlined body. Numerical modeling two-phase is based on Volume Fluid (VOF) method. system equations for water-air mixture consists Navier-Stokes equation, continuity energy conservation and diffusion state (ideal gas Boussinesq approximation). This closed by Smagorinsky model turbulence (the large eddies). geometry was designed accordance with experimental cavitator using SALOME open package. calculation mesh built method cutting out from domain step-by-step densification near body snappyHexMesh utility. results simulation air disk are presented. influence parameters such as injection velocity, velocity cavity, its size stability illustrated. An approximation dependence proposed that describes main system. non-stationary problem two compressible fluids without phase change done compressibleInterFoam numerical open-source package OpenFOAM. obtained were analyzed compared data. perspectives subsequent studies related to development three-phase source packages programs accounting natural cavitation ilustrated.
